Alan brings with him 29 years of experience with leading European food company, Moy Park, where he most recently held the position of UK and Ireland Director. In his new position with Devenish, Alan will be responsible for leading the next phase of the business' growth through building strategic partnerships with key consumer focused customers.
Alan joins Devenish, which is headquartered in Belfast and has operations in North America, the UK and Europe, at an exciting phase in its growth. Exporting to over 40 countries across the globe, Devenish continues to invest significant resources in R&D, which is aligned with its 'Soil to Society' initiative. A recent example is the Devenish innovation behind the world's first naturally enriched omega-3 chicken, supported by human health studies with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Commenting on Alan Gibson's appointment, Executive Chairman of Devenish Owen Brennan, said: "Alan Gibson holds a wealth of insight and experience from within the agri-food and FMCG sectors on an international scale. This will prove extremely valuable for Devenish, as we work with our partners across the food and farming industry. Alan's appointment is a particularly significant development for Devenish, as we roll out our recently launched 'Soil to Society' sustainability initiative. This holistic approach to improving soil, animal and human health, summarises the core of our business strategy and Alan will be integral in taking this forward."
Alan Gibson added: "I am delighted to join the Devenish family at such an exciting time in their journey. The business' commitment to its customers and consumers in developing innovative nutritional solutions with active benefits to human health is both pioneering and motivating. At a time when health and sustainability are becoming increasingly more important, Devenish is well positioned to deliver unique solutions to its business partners, with positive social and environmental impact. I very much look forward to helping further Devenish's reputation as an international business at the forefront of animal and human health innovation."
