The company was commended for its commitment to developing and investing in its existing workforce offering a range of internal initiatives, for example, a future leaders programme and a prospectus with a wide selection of courses open to all.
In addition, Devenish is making continuous investment in future talent, most recently with three initiatives - one a graduate training programme, one supporting numerous PhD students in their research and the third a Doctorate bursary programme in conjunction with Queen's university - Devenish is a deserving winner of this award, which recognises companies that have an innovative and effective approach to inspiring talent, from production operatives through to boardroom level.
In 2017, Devenish launched a performance management system which saw the team deliver 30 workshops and over 100 one-to-one sessions to staff, supported by a competency framework for each level within the business. Since its inception, this process has enabled employees to fully understand what is required of them in their role and what is required of them to move forward and progress their career while successfully contributing to business growth.
Speaking about the success, Devenish's Group HR Director Gillian McAuley, said:
"We are thrilled to be acknowledged for our commitment to inspiring our people at these prestigious awards. We are proud to be recognised for our efforts in developing and inspiring our current employees at all levels throughout the company to enable them to build their skills, enhance their performance levels, and aim for new goals.
"Devenish is built on innovation and by helping to support and nurture all of our existing talent and finding novel ways to identify new talent, we are not only enriching their future careers, but also investing in the future of our business. Without every one of our people, Devenish would not be the successful business it is today."
