Eamonn comes to Devenish with a wealth of experience from General Electric, where he has worked in various roles since his graduation in 1972 from Henley Management College where he achieved an M.B.A. after a his B.E in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin.
Eamonn began his career as a Field Engineer, installing and commissioning power plants across sites in North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and China. Moving to London, in 1997 Eamonn joined a high volume Repairs business as an engineer and rose through roles of increasing responsibility to become Service Centre Manager. Under his leadership, the operation’s revenues grew to $75M in 2002, making Basildon the largest Service Centre in General Electric’s global service network.
Eamonn was then appointed Regional General Manager for Repair Services with operations in UK, Spain, Saudi Arabia, UAE & South Africa, before moving to Atlanta in 2007 to take the role of Global Operations Leader for Steam & Generator repair operations. Using Lean techniques he reduced fixed costs by 25%; drove 14% variable cost productivity and reduced injury rates by 35%.
In his final role for General Electric, Eamonn returned to Europe to integrate a newly acquired manufacturing business with existing GE businesses; achieving a cumulative annual growth rate of 42% since late ’08.
This experience will be invaluable in his new role with Devenish where he hopes to increase productivity, increase production capabilities and reduce costs.
