Devenish is delighted with the outcome of the recent sale process whereby the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) has acquired the lands at Dowth & Netterville. As custodians of the lands for the last 10 years we at Devenish are very pleased that this extraordinary property has been acquired by the state on behalf of the people of Ireland.
At this juncture, the state is the appropriate custodian of such a unique part of our heritage in the UNESCO designated Boyne Valley. The NPWS with their deep knowledge, expertise and track record are in a position to build on the work we have carried out and ultimately optimise the development of the site as a National Park.
We would wish to thank everyone in Devenish and those who supported our efforts in the ground-breaking research on agriculture, biodiversity, the environment and archaeology that has been undertaken during our tenure.
We at Devenish look forward to visiting the Brú na Bóinne National Park in the years ahead with the satisfaction of knowing that we made our positive contribution to this very special place.
