We have an opportunity for a Newly Qualified Accountant to join the company to join our team. Based in our Belfast office, you will report to the Group Financial Controller to support group accountants.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial data.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage the audit process and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.), ensuring compliance.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with budget holders.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decision-making.
- Develop, improve, and document financial processes and internal controls.
- Support or lead projects such as systems implementations, acquisitions, or process automation.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA )
- Relevant industry training
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards.
- Experience in a similar role in industry or trained in a top-tier accounting firm.
- Experience in manufacturing, agri foods sectors (desirable)
- Exposure to group reporting (desirable)
- Knowledge of UK/Irish tax legislation (as relevant) (desirable)
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems and reporting tools (desirable)
- Project management or change management experience (desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial acumen and ability to challenge and support operational teams.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Right to work in the UK
